The main part of carbohydrate intake should consist of complex carbohydrates. Fiber from fruits, vegetables, and legumes slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates - this helps to avoid high blood sugar spikes. A balanced, healthy, and nutrient-rich diet not only benefits blood sugar levels, but also has a positive impact on the entire body.
